Illness and absenteeism from stress, anxiety and depression are rising steadily each year. Health & Safety professionals need to identify any psychosocial hazards which may be present in their workplace and take necessary steps to mitigate harm arising from them. This keynote will present on the importance of mental health & wellbeing in the workplace, what tools are available to us to help us identify psychosocial aspects of work, and how to go about taking first steps in this area. Included as part of this keynote will be an introduction to a Wellbeing Pulse, which differs in how it gathers information when compared with Stress Audits.
This event is to give IOSH members in Ireland especially our members in Ireland South Branch an opportunity to update their knowledge on Mental Health & Wellbeing at Work, and the various steps they can take to ensure compliance regarding psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
This event is for IOSH members; Safety Managers, Safety Officers, Occupational Health personnel, Safety Consultants, business owners, HR professionals, students and people involved in Health and Safety in their workplace in all sectors.
Attendees will gain insights into relevant & up to date statistics relating to stress, anxiety & depression, some trends happening globally, some tools that can be used to identify psychosocial hazards in the workplace and thus inform our actions, and an introduction to a Wellbeing Pulse (which differs from traditional collection tools such as stress audits). Some case studies will also be presented, giving attendees insights into approaches taken by some other organisations.
